Sandra, a published author, shares her exciting and unique experiences (like taking a 49 day around the South Pacific on a container ship) that have led to writing several books.

Tune in to hear what it was like traveling on a container ship and other stories from Sandra’s oceanic experiences and how those have influenced her writing. She also shares thoughts and tips from her experience and an author for those working on books of their own. You don’t want to miss this episode!

Sandra Shaw Homer has lived in Costa Rica for 27 years and in 2010 decided to take the leap of a lifetime -- a 49-day trip around the South Pacific on a container ship. She says you have to love the ocean, which rings through beautifully in her book about her experience, "Letters from the Pacific." Since then, she's "freightered" to Europe and back ("Journey to the Joie de Vivre") and along the coast of South America. In between her travels, she has been working on a memoir of her life here, "Evelio's Garden," which she hopes to see published next year. Several poems and works of creative non-fiction have been published in literary journals.
